Looking for a new pre-workout? I just posted this list with the most popular ones: Best Pre-Workout
Pro Supps is probably best known for the two popular pre-workout supplements Mr. Hyde (and Hyde V2) and Dr. Jekyll. They do, however, have a lot of other supplements in their portfolio. One of them is NO3 Drive and this is the supplement that I will focus on, in this review.
[tr-shareit ]As you easily can tell from the name of the supplement, this is another pre-workout from Pro Supps. But what makes this any different from Mr. Hyde and Dr. Jekyll? Keep reading to find out. [/tr-shareit][affegg id=31]
Before I go into details about the substances used in NO3 Drive, let’s first see what Pro Supps has to say about this supplement. Here goes:
If you want to maximize your workouts and minimize your recovery time, then take note of the many benefits NO3 DRIVE POWDER has to offer. As a Nitrox Oxide Amplifier in powder form, NO3 DRIVE can be mixed into Pre-Workout to increase your body’s ability to drive blood into working muscles. This leads to an increase in Vasodilation and your muscles will be fuller, more vascular and more pumped than ever in the gym. This key element of driving blood and oxygen into your muscles will also assist in combating fatigue and lactic acid build up for more intense and effective workouts.
NO3 Drive powder combines the first ever 4-blend Agmatine Matrix called AgmaPro combining 4 different forms of agmatines. Add in HydroMax Glycerol, L- Citrulline Peptide and Sodium Nitrate and you are set for the most intense, skin tearing workouts without having to spend a ton of money.Infused with HydroMax and Sodium NitrateAgmapro Matrix containing 4 Agmatine compoundsFirst ever Agmatine and Citrulline peptides combined100% Stimulant Free
NO3 Drive is clearly a pump based supplement. The intro sounds good, so lets carry on and take a closer look at the substances used in this PWO.

This is an interesting and novel list with no stimulants. If you are looking for a good alternative pre-workout supplement with no caffeine or other stimulants, but with a heavy focus on pumps, this might be for you. Keep reading, to see the details of the substances used in NO3 Drive. Here goes.
Sugar Alcohol (as Powdered Glycerol 65% HydroMax®)
I recently covered this stuff in the review of Yeah Buddy from Ronnie Coleman Signature Series. Glycerol is a pump amplifier which seemingly won’t give you as much of a pump as say NO, but the pump you do get will be longer lasting, due to water retention. A side benefit from glycerol is a proven prevention of post-workout dehydration. But what exactly is the deal with HydroMax then? HydroMax is simply the trademarked version of a better (as in, containing more Glycerol) glycerol powder, from the company Glanbia Nutritionals Inc.
Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid)
You probably supplement with vitamin C when you have a cold or are about to get one. Vitamine C is also a strong antioxidant, and it comes with several benefits; Vitamin C is required for the growth and repair of tissues in all parts of your body. The vitamin is essential for producing collagen, a protein needed to make skin, scar tissue, tendons, ligaments, and blood vessels. It is important for the healing of wounds, and for the restoration and maintenance of cartilage, bones, and teeth. But there is more the vitamin C than this. I am sure you have probably noticed that Vitamin C is a very common substance in pre-workout supplements, but what is the reason for this? The short version is that Vitamin C has NO-Boosting qualities. – You can read more about it here. here.
Sodium is an electrolyte. It performs several key functions in the body such as helping to maintain adequate fluid levels in the body and support muscle contraction.
AGMAPRO MATRIX 500mg
AGMAPURE® (Agmatine Sulfate), AGMAPHOS™ (Agmatine Phosphate) and AGMACORE™ (Agmatine Hydrochloride)
Agmatine Sulfate acts as an anti-oxidant, appears to help regulate the levels of Nitric Oxide and should allegedly be able to give the user a focus boost. The most interesting aspect of agmatine sulfate is it’s effect on hyperemia (pump); typically NO-related substances are used with the intention of increasing the NO levels. Agmatine sulfate, however, works as a pump amplifier by prolonging its lifespan by preventing NO breakdown. But what is the deal with Agmatine Phosphate and Hydrochloride? There is close to no information to be found on this on external sources, and Pro Supps doesn’t exactly shared any detailed information either. The first thing that comes to mind is the similarity to the “evolution” we have seen with different
But what is the deal with Agmatine Phosphate and Hydrochloride? There is close to no information to be found on this on external sources, and Pro Supps doesn’t exactly shared any detailed information either. The first thing that comes to mind is the similarity to the “evolution” we have seen with different creatine variations, and that naturally brings the idea that these substances will give the same benefits as Agmatine Sulfate, just with improved absorption. This is pretty much all I can say (guess) at this point since I simply don’t have any detailed information.
PepForm® Citrulline Peptides
Citrulline is a precursor to Arginine, an amino acid that is a precursor to Nitric oxide. It has been shown to be an effective performance enhancer. It helps to boost endurance, decrease soreness and enhance muscle recovery after strenuous workouts.
PepForm is GlanbiaNutritionals patent-pending peptide carrier technology designed to improve the solubility and absorption of bioactives. The short version here is that Citrulline Peptides is likely to have better solubility and absorption than Citrulline. There is a lack of information on peoples personal experience with this stuff.
Sodium Nitrate NO3-T®
Sodium nitrate is the chemical compound with the formula NaNO3. This salt is also known as Chile saltpeter and Peru saltpeter. I have covered the details of nitrates several times before here on muscles.zone. Its a common pre-workout substance, and one of my personal favorites.nitrates will, when ingested, convert to nitrite which is then converted into Nitric Oxide. Nitric Oxide has been studied heavily from a bodybuilding perspective and has primarily been shown to increase muscle pumps, increase glucose use, enhance endurance, reduce fatigue and increase recovery rates.
That is it for the supplement facts. An interesting list with some new substances in use.
PUmp, Energy, focus & endurance – NO3 Drive
First of all, it should be noted that I have not personally tested NO3 Drive from Pro Supps. I would love to give it a go when I have a chance, but up until now, the opportunity has not presented itself. Because of this, the thoughts posted here are solely based on the supplement facts, and other people’s personal experiences with this PWO.
As mentioned above, it it obvious that NO3 Drive is a pump based PWO. The Agmapro matrix might give you a good focus boost, but do no confuse this with energy. This is more likely to give you determination to get things done, when hitting the gym but not the energy. With the mix above, I think the pumps are likely to be good, but it mostly comes down to the effectiveness of the Agmapro matrix, which there little to no information about. In addition to this, you got the nitrates and Hydromax to get things going. However, should the Agmapro matrix fall short on delivering solid pumps, my guess is that this PWO probably won’t be that much of a success. Naturally, the Citrulline Peptides will also help to boost the pumps.
Although I havent tested this PWO, I think its fair to say that the dosages are good, the substances seems interesting and likely to do the trick. It falls short on energy and stimulants, but that is not the purpose of this PWO. If you want to boost these elements, you might want to mix NO3 Drive with Mr. Hyde or Dr. Jekyll. This should give you a PWO above the standard!
Although we have some novel ingredients in NO3 Drive, I don’t think there any reason to detail potential side effects. The stuff used here should get your pumped in the gym, but I think it’s pretty safe to say you wont experience any significant side effects from following recommended dosages of this pre-workout.
price per serving and ratings
One things to note here is that this version of NO3 Drive highlighted in this review is the new version from Pro Supps. There was a former version with the same name. When this happens (which happens quite often) it tends to be difficult to tell whether reviews on certain sites are based on the old of the re-formulated version.
With that being said, the current rating for NO3 Drive over at bodybuilding.com is listed as N/A which is probably because the ratings are based solely on the new version. There old version is still listed (as capsules), with a rating of 9 out of 10 based on 50 reviews. This is however, not relevant in this case, as the new version is a completely different thing.
On SupplementReviews.com, the new version isnt listed at all. The old version is there, which hold a score of 8.5 out of 10, based on one review, which was posted back in 2014.
The price for a jar with 30 serverings of the new NO3 Drive over at bodybuilding.com is set to $21.99 meaning that the price per serving will be $0.73 which is in the better end of the standard range. As usual, you can get the cheapest option at amazon. Here you can get the same jar for just $19.61 (keep in mind prices on amazon changes all the time, but this is the current price), meaning that the price per serving will be just $0.65.
Verdict of the New NO3 Drive from Pro Supps
I haven’t tested this PWO, so I can’t based this review on anything else than the substances used in the supplement and other people’s experience. There is a lack of reviews on this, as it was released just recently. The main part of the supplement facts is the Agmapro Matrix, and it is equally difficult to find specific information on these substances. With that being said, Pro Supps has a reputation for developing solid supplements. The price per serving is good! The dosages are good, and it is nice to see some new additions to a pure pump based PWO. There is no stimulants here but that is intentional. Overall, an interesting take on a pump based PWO, but maybe some more proven substances would have done some good.
