Although the company mainly specializes in pre-workout supplements, they offer a few other products as well, such as creatine and a test booster. With the newest addition of Amino HP, they now have seven supplements on their product line. This is the first amino acid supplement released by ANS Performance.

In addition, they claim that muscle recovery is enhanced and muscle soreness after workouts is reduced. That’s several claims for just one product. Vitamin B6 and Potassium are very common among various supplements and multi-vitamins. Their benefits are well-known and widely accepted.
The 2:1:1 BCAA ratio is common among amino acid supplements, so that is nothing new. In fact, it is pretty much the accepted standard for amino supplements. L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, and L-Valine support protein synthesis, which increases muscle growth and recovery. Studies have shown that they are most effective when combined.
The Muscle HorsePower Complex starts to get into new territory. While taurine is quite common in various supplements, the combination of the other amino acids is unique. Trimethylglycine is reported to increase strength and power output due to the increase of cellular swelling. This is similar to creatine. While still in the early stages of research, there has been some promising results. Several studies have shown that choline enhances cognitive functioning. Amentoflavone is a fairly new ingredient used in supplements. One study demonstrates that it is able to reduce vasoconstriction. There may be other performance implications, but further research needs to be conducted.
L-Citrulline Malate has shown to enhance the efficiency of muscular contractions. This increases muscular endurance by requiring less ATP during a rep. Rosa roxburghii extract has been used in traditional medicine for vitality and longevity purposes. Early research has shown that it is able to enhance glycogen recovery in mice.
Flavors, Jar Sizes and Price per Serving
Amino HP comes in two flavors, which are Icy Blue Razz and Wicked Watermelon. It only comes in one size that contains 30 servings. The price listed on ANS Performance is $29.99. This comes to about $1.00 per serving.
Since Amino HP has only been on the market for about a month now, there are very few ratings. It is not yet listed on SupplementReviews or Bodybuilding.com.
While Amino HP is new and has received few ratings so far, ANS Performance products regularly receive solid ratings on various supplement sites. They often have higher than an 8 out of 10 rating. The price per serving is a little pricey though. However, if you are looking for a pre and post-workout supplement that is caffeine-free and creatine-free, this would serve as a good alternative. The total price of one jar is reasonable if you want to try it out.
