In the last post I looked closer at Pre Gro from iSatori. Before that I shared some thoughts on the new Hyde V2 from Pro Supps, and just before that I posted a couple of lines on the new Craze Version 2 from Driven Sports. In this post I will look at the details of Noxivol from CTD.
Noxivol is a pump-based pre-workout supplement manufactured by CDT Labs. The supplement was formerly known as Noxavol, but was revamped into a new formula designed to promote muscle growth, strength and endurance. Noxivol comes with several ingredients that have been show to increase the concentration of Nitric Oxide in the body. Since its release, it has attracted a lot of attention on various supplement forums online, and with good reason. Below is a closer look at the supplement.
Noxivol – Claims
On the supplement bottle, Noxivol is dubbed as “strength enhancing vasodilator”. It claims to help users achieve muscle fullness, vascularity, grow lean muscles, increase strength, gain joint health, and increase endurance and performance. The supplement works by opening up the blood vessels, hence increasing the flow of blood into the muscle tissues. This enhances the performance of the muscles, while improving their recovery rate.
One serving of Noxivol contains 7.1 grams. The supplement comes as a proprietary blend, with two blends: a Noxivol blend and a Nitric Support Matrix blend. The ingredients include:
– Beta Alanine
– L-Arginine (AKG) Alpha Keto-Glutarate
– Cissus Quadrangularis
– L-Ornithine Ethyl Ester DiHCl
Nitric Support Matrix: 130 mg
– Alpha-GPC (L-Alpha Glycerylphosphoryl choline)
– Vanadyl Sulfate
Beta Alanine is a non-essential amino acid that is converted into Carnosine when it is ingested by the body. Carnosine works as an intracellular buffer in the body, protecting the muscle tissues against the effects of lactic acid that builds up during workouts. This helps to increase stamina and endurance, especially during high-intensity workouts.
L-Histidine – Histidine is an amino acid which, just like Beta Alanine, is synthesized into Carnosine when ingested by the body. It protects the muscle tissue from lactic acid infiltration, increasing performance and endurance.
L-Norvaline – Norvaline is a form of the branched chain amino acid Valine. It promotes the growth of lean muscles and helps in tissue regeneration.
L-Arginine Alpha Keto-Glutarate (AKG) – Arginine AKG is contains Arginine (precursor to Nitric Oxide) molecule, which is absorbed into the body easily, and is more resistant to chemical breakdown when ingested in the body.
Cissus Quadrangularis is extracted from Veldt Grape, a succulent vine commonly found in Southeast Asia and Africa. It has several bone and joint health benefits, and is used in Noxivol for joint support.
L-Ornithine Ethyl Ester DiHCl is an amino acid with an ester attached to it, which helps to support muscle growth. The presence of ester enhances its effect and prolongs its benefits over a longer period.
Alpha-GPC (L-Alpha Glycerylphosphoryl choline) – Alpha-GPC is a Choline compound that is found naturally in the brain and in milk. It is used to enhance cognitive functions. Supplementation of Alpha-GPC in Noxivol helps to enhance mood and increase focus during workout.
Vanadyl Sulfate helps to increase the level of insulin in the body, which is crucial to the delivery of energy to the cells. It also increases permeability of the body cells, allowing amino acids to enter the cells and build or repair worn out tissues. This promotes the growth of muscles.
Rutaecarpine is an extract of Evodia rutaecarpa herb. It promotes vasodilation by altering the calcium levels in the blood vessels forming cells.
Bioperine is an extract of black pepper. It helps to increase the absorption of the ingredients contained in the supplement
Flavor, jar sizes and price per serving
Noxivol is available in two flavors: Fruit Punch and Pineapple Strawberry. The supplement comes in one jar size that contains 45 servings. It is available at a price of $33.15 on bodybuilding.com store. This gives a price per serving of $0.74.
Noxivol has received plenty of positive reviews online from users. It has a rating of 9.3/10 on bodybuilding.com and 8.1/10 on supplementreviews.com.
Noxivol is a pretty decent pre-workout supplement that comes with several ingredients, whose effectiveness is backed by research. However, what makes it stand out from other pre-workout supplements is that it has no stimulants. Noxivol is thus worth a try if you prefer a stimulant-free pre-workout supplement.
