Super Pump 250 with DMAA from Gaspari Nutrition – Review

Gaspari is back with a novel version of the old and popular (and one of my personal favorite pre-workout supplements) SuperPump 250. One of the most surprising changes here is that this version contains DMAA; its even branded right into the logo! Introducing SuperPump 250 with DMAA

The old SuperPump 250 was one of the best PWOs I have ever used, and compare to everything else available at the time, SuperPump 250 was second to none! But how does the new DMAA based version stack up against competing supplements (like DVST8 and all the other best rated pre-workout supplements)? Read on and find out.

Before we take a look at the supplement facts of the new SuperPump 250 with DMAA from Gaspari Nutrition, let’s first see what they have to say about their new PWO. Here goes;

The people have spoken, and they have spoken loudly. They want, they DEMAND, the game changing and industry leading SUPERPUMP 250® to power them through their intense workouts. Finally, after years of precise formulation Gaspari Nutrition® is proud to say we have listened, and “THE KING IS BACK”!

The Ultimate Pre-Workout Is Here:

  • Mind Blowing Energy Powered by DMAA
  • Skin Splitting Muscle Pumps
  • Fully Dosed & Clinically Validated Active Ingredients
  • Enhanced Strength & Athletic Performance

When SUPERPUMP 250® first hit the market, it changed pre-workout supplementation forever. It was the first product in the category to offer a truly complete formula that used proven science to maximize every potential pathway for athletic enhancement. With such an inclusive and perfectly dosed blend of active ingredients, we know we could simply re-release the original formula and yet again have the best pre-workout on the market, but Gaspari Nutrition® always strives to improve. So instead of taking the easy way out, we decided to take the world’s best formula, and improve it in every single way imaginable.

First and foremost, a pre-workout needs to give users explosive energy to help them power through even the most hardcore workouts. SUPERPUMP 250® is the new ultimate in energy enhancement with its “Insane Energy Blend” that features DMAA, intense Xanthine molecules, and mind blowing isomers such as N-phenethyl dimethylamine. Just 1 scoop of SUPERPUMP 250® will give ANY user limitless energy along with unrivaled amounts of concentration and focus.

SUPERPUMP 250® is more than just energy & focus, as it’s the first product to include the two most powerful Nitric Oxide intensifiers known to science with L-Citrulline Silicate and Agmatine Silicate. These two novel forms of amino acids are unique in that they are structurally modified on a molecular level to significantly increase bioavailability as well as efficacy. This means bigger pumps, more endurance, and better results than ANY other pre-workout available, proven by science.

With your energy & pumps at never before seen levels, SUPERPUMP 250® takes it to the next level by incorporating pharmaceutical grade Adaptogens to modify your hormonal response to training. Traditionally, the body goes into a state of “fight or flight” while we pound the iron, which causes a surge in muscle wasting hormones like Cortisol. SUPERPUMP 250® fights back by forcing the body to adapt to the physical stress we experience, and as a result causes a surge in anabolic hormones like Testosterone to make sure we are in an anabolic or muscle building state 24/7.

You spoke. We listened. The best just got better, and now you FINALLY get a chance to experience everything a pre-workout is SUPPOSED to be.

Mix 1 scoop with 4-8oz of ice cold water and drink 30-45 minutes before beginning any physical activity. Due to the extreme potency of this product, assess your tolerance by first trying 1/2 a serving mixed with 2-4oz of ice cold water. Do not exceed more than 1 full scoop in any 24 hour period.

SuperPump 250 with DMAA

Sounds good. Now lets take a closer look and see what you will get from a serving of this PWO. The supplement facts listed to the right.

Creatine HCL

One of the modern and most popular “designer creatines” – We have seen lots of these new creatine alternatives in recent years. Majority of them have been proven to be no more beneficial than normal creatine monohydrate. However Creatine HCL keeps showing up in today’s supplements, and there seems to be an agreement that this stuff is supirior to normal monohydrate.

SuperPump 250 with DMAA from Gaspari Review

Unfortunately, we only get 1.5 grams in one servnig of SuperPump 250 which isnt likely to do much. So if you run a jar of SuperPump 250, make sure to run your normal creatine cycle in addition to this (in my opinion).

Just in case you want more information on creatine and creatine HCL, make sure to read this post. I have covered the details of all the different modern creatine alternatives several times before here on so I won’t cover the details here.

Citrulline Silicate

In the nitric oxide pump and endurance matrix we get some citrulline silicate which basically is l-citrulline (the precursor to arginine) bound to a molecule of silicate, making it more bioavailable. This will increase your nitric oxide production.

Agmatine Silicate

In that same matrix we also get agmatine silicate which is derived from L-Arginine and bound to a silicate. This will indirectly boost nitric oxide in that it prevents the breakdown of arginine via inhibition of arginase enzyme. It will prolong the effects of nitric oxided for a sustained pump.

Next on the list is one of the good old and well known substances, L-Taurine; an amino acid that has been shown to increase cognitive performance. It does come with a wide range of different benefits, but its mostly known and used for it’s cognitiion enhancing properties. Good stuff.

another well known, tried and tested substance that has been proven to ehnahce mental alertness and boost mood, focus and cognition. It is a very common pre-workout substance and for a good reason.

Red Wine Extract

Red wine extract standardized for 30% glycerol which acts as a cell volumizer. A commonly used substances in pre-workouts but tends to come as a standard of 25% glycerol. This will improve endurance and muscle pumps. Good stuff!

Potassium Glycerophosphate

Vital electrolytes that help regulate total body fluid balance; Prevent muscle cramping and replaces elements lost through sweat.

Guanidinopropionic Acid

An interesting substance and the first time I come across this. This is apperently an analogue of creatine monohydrate and will primarily increase muscle contractions and support creatine uptake.

Rhodiola Rosea

A traditional herb that can decrease fatigue and give you a boost of energy. This is a very common substance in pre-workout supplements, but its been used long before the existence of PWOs. Chances are you have seen this several times before in local stores. It also aids in dealing with stress. All in all, a brilliant addition to any pre-workout.

4-Hydroxyisoleucine is a compound of Fenugreek, a herb with light green leaves and small white flowers. It is of the pea family (Fabaceae) that has a bitter taste and is known specially in the arabic regions for it’s libido and masculinity enhancing properties. It has also been shown to be a potent insulin activator and tonormalize glucose metabolism. This is definately an interesting addition to SuperPump, and no something we commonly see in pre-workout supplements.

Cinnamon Bark Extract

What is it

We all cinnamon as In foods as a spice and as a flavoring agent in beverages. Well it turns out cinnamon is more than just a brilliant spice! It can help with prevention of insuline spikes, lower blood sugar levels and improve insulin sensitivity.

It is worth to note that cinnamon contain a liver toxin called coumarin, so if you decide to go for some extra cinnamon from your kitchen shelves, make sure to keep the dosing within reason.

From a supplementation perspective, it is better to go for Ceylon cinnamon, which is made from a different plant species, as this contains lower levels of coumarin.

Effects / Used for

  • Lower blood sugar levels

Typical Dosage

  • 1 – 5 grams

Supplementation has been shown to come with a wide range of different benefits, including improved cogntion, anxiety reduction, reduce stress and ability to regulate hormone levels.

There has been reported adverse effects from supplementation of Bacopa Monnieri such as nausea and upset stomech (which seems to be a result of supplemetation on an empty stomech).

Caffeine Anhydrous

What is it

Caffeine is a stimulant found is coffee beans, tea, energy drinks and modern pre-workout supplements. Without searching for evidence on this, I think it is fair to say that this probably is the most popular stimulant in the entire world.

A decent dose of caffeine is known to give a mental and psychical performance boost, while too much caffeine tends to result in jittery, rapid heart beats and anxiety.

Caffeine Anhydrous is “caffeine without water” meaning it’s basically caffeine extracted from natural sources and then broken down, into a crystallized and powdered form, which is what you see used in say pre-workout supplements.

  • Stimulant
  • Increased energy
  • Increased focus
  • Weight loss

Typical Dosage

DMAA (1,3 Dimethylamylamine)

What is it

DMAA is a relative new substance in the bodybuilding space. It was introduced by Patrick Arnold in a supplement called AMP back in 2005. Since then the substance gained rapid popularity and was in lots and lots of different supplements.

DMAA really got popular when the popular pre-workout Jack3d was released. Shortly after, FDA attempted to get the substance banned. Do note this is a grey zone substance, but currently its still being used in various supplements.

DMAA is a highly stimulatory substance with structural similarity to amphetamine and mechanisms of action may be as an adrenaline mimetic. It is known to give the user a strong boost of energy and enhanced focus. There are also users reporting some levels of erouphia.

Do note that DMAA may cause a false positive for amphetamines in urine testing.

Theobromine (Theobroma Cacao Seed Extract)

What is it

Theobromine is a popular substance found in a number of natural substances, including cacao and leaves of the tea plant. Theobromine is a white crystalline, bitter powder.  It has an effect similar to that of caffeine, although known to be weaker in it’s effect. It is also believed to be responsible for the aphrodisiac effects of dark chocolate.

Theobromine is a popular substance and often used in pre-workout supplements in combination with or as an alternative to normal caffeine. It is a good alternative to those getting jittery from caffeine.

Effects / Used for

  • Stimulant
  • Increased energy
  • Increased focus
  • Weight loss

Typical Dosage

  • 100 mg

Other Names

  • Theobroma

Verdict on SuperPump 250 with DMAA

I could do without the creatine and the partial prop. blends but besides from that, SuperPump 250 with DMAA looks like nothing but an absolute winner and definately one I would like to give a go. There is novelty mixed with tried and tested substances that should get you more than ready to hit the gym. Do note that this is only based on supplement facts and not personal experience with this pre-workout supplement. I can however already say, that this is going to be listed on the best pre-workout page, and I will make sure to finish this review with my personal experiences, once I get a chance to test this.
