MusclePharm, popularly known as MP, is one of the giant dietary supplements makers in the United States. The company has been in this industry for close to a decade and so far, their products have not disappointed. MP is the company that engineered the pre work out supplement known as Wreckage. In the beginning of the year 2015, MP unveiled a new product line which they called the Hardcore Series. Wreckage is one of the three supplements in this series. The other ones are Diesel, a protein powder and Gainz, a post workout supplement. So Wreckage is really new in the market, but it has created such a buzz and we want to see exactly why it gained popularity so fast.
As a far as pre-workout supplements go, Wreckage is designed to give users more oomph, just before they hit the gym. MP clearly asserts that Wreckage is no ordinary supplement – it is advanced, it gives hard hitting results and will help users push beyond their limits. Users of Wreckage are able to maximize their workout sessions as they remain focused and motivated even through the most intense workouts. These are strong claims and everyone can get this info from the front label of the container. However, the most interesting part is looking at it from the back so that you can analyze the supplement facts and ingredients. This, of course will help us know just what to expect from Wreckage.
There are a few notable highlights here with Wreckage. First of all, there is no proprietary blend, just straight ingredients and an open label. Two, you will not find artificial dyes in the list of ingredients and MP claims that the formula is clinically dosed and lastly, there is an active ingredient known as D-Aspartic Acid. It is not common in other PWO supplements, so it stands out here. A serving of Wreckage gives you just 5 calories and it has a total carbohydrate amount of just 1g. It is rich in Vitamins C, D and the B group in addition to its main ingredients.

Other Ingredients are – Silicon Dioxide, Sucralose, Phosphatidylserine, Red Beet Root Powder, Acesulfame Potassium, Huperzine A, Natural & Artificial Flavors,
L-Citrulline DL-Malate – this is a cardiovascular supplement that greatly enhances performance. It increases muscle endurance enabling the body to push harder and for longer. Studies on athletes have shown a very significant boost in nitric oxide which helped them perform better. Wreckage packs 6g of this compound – just the right clinical dose for optimal performance.
L-Leucine –this is a common Branched Chain Amino Acid. Its sole purpose is to promote lean muscle growth. So it plays a vital role as a muscle building compound.
D-Aspartic Acid (DAA) – so this is the not so common ingredient that I was talking about. DAA is what has made Wreckage quite popular. This supplement has gained massive popularity in recent years after research showed that it is a natural testosterone booster. It helps increase strength and builds bulk muscles.
Creatine Hydrochloride (HCl) this is a widely studied and researched amino acid. It is also one of the most popular ingredients in dietary supplements. It effectively increases strength and helps build lean muscle mass. It works by producing ATP – which increases power.
(Carnosyn®) Beta-Alanine – this is another extensively researched amino acid that enhances endurance. It is a popular PWO ingredient.
L-Tyrosine – this is a pre workout staple which is a non essential amino acid. It improves mood and increases focus.
BioPerine® – this is an extract of black pepper. It improves absorption of nutrients significantly. So it plays a vital role in ensuring proper absorption of the many ingredients in this formula.
Servings, Jar Sizes and Flavors
One serving size of Wreckage pre work out supplement is about 21g of the powder. The supplement comes in a container that can hold at least 20 servings. Only two flavors are available- the Raspberry Twist and Melon flavors. The supplement’s Mix-Ability is said to be really good so you get your full dose every time – no clumps and no residue. There seems to be only one jar size and this can be bought online for $34.00 – $36.00.
Though it is a fairly new supplement, its reception has been really positive and already, it has a significant number of users. On bodybuilding.com, Wreckage by MP receives a whooping 9.4/10 star rating. This is excellent. Based on taste, users rated it at 8.8/10, which is still pretty good. MusclePharm being a massive company did a great job at advertising, obviously. Besides, it is good to remember that world class sportspeople like world champion golfer, Tiger Woods and athlete Lind Walter, endorse this brand. Not forgetting Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Wreckage is an advanced pre workout supplement and in my opinion, it is best for those who are experienced and have been using these performance enhancers for some time. Additionally, Wreckage contains only one stimulant – caffeine. This may therefore not be the best supplement for stim lovers who have a higher than average caffeine tolerance level. They may be disappointed as they may not feel the effects of the stimulant. Overall, I think Wreckage will definitely live up to its name – it is indeed a hardcore pre workout supplement.
